Aristida purpurea, Ephedra viridis, Eriogonum heermannii, E. inflatum, E. wrightii, Ferocactus cylindraceus, Juniperus osteosperma, Opuntia chlorotica, Purshia stansburiana, and Yucca baccata.
Locally rather abundant; cespitose although not evenly mounded; spine color ranging from pale straw to dark gray. Several live specimens collected; this individual with sterile anthers; flowers photographed and pressed (6) 29 April 2008 from individual transplanted to Chino Valley, Arizona; fruits photographed and pressed 16 June 2008 from same individual.
