Almost exclusively on ruin mounds in dry mesas. Thorny shrub to 4 ft. high, corolla tubular, flowers pendant. Pale Wolfberry. The ripe berries may have been a food plant of the Anazazi. This occurrence suggests the Anazazi imported Lycium to our area.
